Jonas Heil served as a private in the National Guard of Pennsylvania in Captain John F. Schoener's Company C, 7th Regiment; he enrolled on 13 November 1875, and was discharged on 9 May 1876 at Mahanoy City, Pa., for physical disability. Nicholas P. Kafkalas was a United States (U.S.) Army officer and member of the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a full time member of the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1954 to 1979 and the Adjutant General of the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1977 to 1979.
